Josh comes to Mishkan Tefila after spending many years as the International Program Associate at BBYO (B’nai Brith Youth Organization), the international pluralistic Jewish teen movement.  He holds a Masters in Jewish Education from Hebrew College and an MBA in non-profit management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.  Josh is an experienced and creative educator for youth and adults.  He will be directing our synagogue school, leading its transformation in partnership with Jewish Learning Connections of CJP in the coming years, and working with our children and teens to develop meaningful, fun and engaging youth programs. His wife, Esther, joins Rabbi Berman’s wife as students at MIT Sloan.

LISA KIDECKEL came to us with years of experience both as an educator and a director. She has dedicated her professional career to the education of young children.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cornell University, with a concentration in Child Development and Family Studies; a Masters of Education Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland; and she holds Director II Certification from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Lisa served as the Director of the Suzuki Preschool of Newton where she established the preschool from it’s inception.  Lisa’s extensive background includes terms at Temple Emeth Nursery School, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Boston, and Temple Israel of Swampscott.

Lisa is married to Rabbi Earl Kideckel of Temple Beth Torah in Holliston.  They are the parents of Stacey, Cory and Bradley.
