Nursery School

The Mishkan Tefila Nursery School provides children, ages 1.9 to 5 yrs, with a nurturing, warm and specially prepared, child-centered environment. We offer an experiential Jewish program that fosters a love of learning.  The nursery school has been in operation for over 20 years; our teachers are all experienced educators, certified through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

Our nursery school offers a fun and safe environment for your children to grow, learn and make friends; we facilitate cooperative learning while encouraging independence.  Our classrooms are colorful, bright and filled with natural light and we offer both indoor and outdoor play space.

Our curriculum is planned thematically to include our bodies (our selves), families, seasonal changes, etc.  We bring nature inside and use it in all of our learning centers. Exposure to literacy is everywhere in every classroom.  All of the learning activities are process-oriented rather than concentrating on the end product.  We recognize that children learn in different ways, and work with each child at his or her own pace.

Our daily curriculum is enriched with specialists who visit every classroom each month.  Some highlights of our school include:

  • Transition to kindergarten program for those children who miss the public school cut off
  • Extended day 5 days per week
  • “Explorer’s” classes for our last hour of extended day
  • Brand new state of the art playground
  • Gross motor room for inside activities
  • Monthly enrichment specialists
  • 2, 3 and 5 day options for all classes
