Join us on December 9-10, 2011, as we host Rabbi Naamah Kelman, Dean of the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem as our Scholar-in-Residence. Rabbi Kelman is a descendent of 10 generations of rabbis and the first woman to be ordained by the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem in 1992.
Rabbi Kelman has been intensely involved in the emerging movement to bring Jewish spirituality to secular Israelis and has been a leader in inter-faith dialogue and the cause of Women’s rights in Israel. During our Shabbat together, Rabbi Kelman will lead services and incorporate the style of the Beth Tefila Yisraeli (the new Israeli House of Prayer): poetry, study, and lively singing.
