Sharing Our Stories – The CMT Legacy Project

For learning wisdom and spiritual practice
For understanding words of discernment
For acquiring the discipline of success,
Righteousness justice and equity;
For endowing the simple with shrewdness,
The young with knowledge and foresight.

Mishlei (Proverbs) 1:1-4

Every morning and evening during our chanting of the shema, we recite the biblical verse: “vshinantam livanecha” – “and you shall teach these to your children.” Teaching our children who we are, what we hope for, and what we imagine for the future stands at the heart of our tradition.   Our stories sustain us, and bring us wisdom.

During this coming year, we will begin CMT’s own Legacy Project: an initiative meant to give us all, old and young, a chance to share our stories and reflect together on the meaning of our lives.

CMT is uniquely blessed to have a strong presence among multiple generations. Our Project will create a sweet and wonderful opportunity for intergenerational conversation. Together we will create an archive of the stories, memories and dreams of our members, years into the future.
