We are writing to let you know that our Executive Director, Zach Dunn, will be leaving Congregation Mishkan Tefila. He is moving to Miami to be closer to his aging in-laws. This was an incredibly difficult decision for Zach. He feels very close to the CMT community and enjoys the innovation and collegiality of the CMT team. Ultimately, he felt that the move will enable his young sons Kaelib and Austin to spend more time with their grandparents and it will be easier for him and his wife Aimee, to provide the care and support needed. While this is a bittersweet moment for all of us at CMT, we are grateful that Zach provided outstanding leadership during the construction and transition to our new home.
Zach agreed to support us through the next few months. He will be in Boston for 3 days a week working with us beginning Sept 7 through October 1 and will work remotely as needed August 16-September 6. This plan will insure our first High Holyday services in the new social hall will run smoothly and continue our tradition of sharing a meaningful and uplifting experience.
The leadership team is taking this opportunity to assess the work needed to continue our growth and determine the optimum staffing for our present and future success. We will then initiate a search process to identify the best candidates for our needs.
While change is never easy, we are confident that with our committed staff and the support of our devoted leaders and volunteers, CMT will continue to thrive and be our home away from home each and every day.
We know you join us in wishing Zach and his family much success and happiness in their new home. Feel free to reach out to us with any question or comments you may have about this transition or anything else related to our synagogue community by email to president@mishkantefila.org or call the office at 617-332-7770. We will be staffing the office during peak hours and responding to emails and voice mails daily.
Sincerely,
Caryl, Lynda and Steven
