The Sisterhood of Congregation Mishkan Tefila is part of the New England Branch of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism.  For over 100 years, Sisterhood has brought the women of Mishkan Tefila together to work, learn with and from each other, and to foster friendships. Sisterhood makes a difference in our congregation and community.  Our goal is to promote a strong sense of community among the women of the synagogue.

Our programs provide opportunities for personal Jewish development and the means to enhance women’s roles in the home, the synagogue and the community.  We support and sponsor Jewish Education and varied programs for CMT and the community at large.  Sisterhood represents our Jewish values and desire to make our community a better place in which to live. While it focuses on the needs and interests of women, it is a partner with the Brotherhood to share in social events and in other contributions that meet the religious and financial needs of our Congregation.

Sisterhood is constantly evolving as it adapts to the new roles, lifestyles and schedules of its members. Whether you are single, a stay-at-home or working mom or grandma, a student, career woman, widow or retiree, Sisterhood is for you.  Our activities run the gamut, including fitness sessions, women’s seder, game night, theatre excursions, cooking demonstrations, author lectures and our annual Spring Celebration. Through our mitzvot and wide range of programs, we work hard and know how to have fun.  Come early and often and make some of the best friends you’ll ever have.
